Hutton and Read Limited is a family run business which prides itself on its high standard of quality craftsmanship and excellent level of service within the construction industry.

Established in 1979 the growth of the company has been achieved through prudent fiscal policies and a philosophy of customer care. Quality, on time and on budget, are the key factors as we continue to produce for our Clients. This has been the cornerstone of our success achieved through our strategy of maintaining a close and amicable relationship with Clients and their Design Teams.

Operating from premises eight miles west of Edinburgh, on the A71, the business is ideally situated for servicing contracts and workload throughout the central belt and the rest of Scotland.

The company now employs approximately sixty full-time personnel covering core trades such as workshop and site based joiners, stonemasons, bricklayers, ground workers, plasterers and French polishers.

The company has invested heavily in the workshop facility during the past twenty years. This facility serves both contract works and production of manufactured joinery products. As a result of this investment our team of craftsmen produce the highest quality timber products available in any timber desired. With a reputation for first-rate workmanship our range of products includes windows, external and internal doors, stairs, home offices, internal finishing, external and internal screens, bookcases, kitchens, wall panelling, counters and restaurant and shop fitting.

The workshop also includes a painting booth where we are able to carry out a variety of finishes including French polishing, staining and spray painting.

Our products are hand crafted using a unique blend of traditional joinery techniques and modern technology to ensure that we provide the best service and products.

We also offer a comprehensive design and manufacturing service and will provide advice on any particular needs.
